What is Tai Chi?

Tai Chi is an ancient internal Chinese martial art, yet one of the most effective exercises for health of mind and body. It is a low impact, slow-motion form of exercise that is said to unblock and encourage the proper flow of Qi (our vital force) throughout the body.

Tai Chi Chuan is a training method that allows you to discover your true potential and improves physical and mental wellbeing.

Movements in Tai Chi are usually circular and never forced, the muscles are relaxed rather than tensed, the joints are not fully extended or bent and connective tissues are very subtly stretched.

Numerous studies into the benefits of Tai Chi CHuan have shown that regular practice can:

  • Restore natural body alignment
  • Improve coordination, posture and balance
  • Increease strength and range of motion in tthe joints
